Now there is a lot of stuff going on about people who offer "no alternatives or solutions". Thus it appears that if one wants to make a comment, one has to provide a solution. For example if you are unhappy with some policy you need to provide some sort of solution otherwise you would be labelled a "fault finder" or a cynic who is creating despondency in our dear society.

But what exactly is a fault finder? Is the average man on the street guilty of fault finding just because he writes a letter to the forum regarding an issue without providing a solution?

To answer that, we have to look at the definition of a Fault Finder. What are the characteristics that make a person a fault finder?

The term fault finding seems to have a lot of negative connotations. In fact, the term can hardly apply to all those concerned citoyens of Le Republic who comment on issues without providing solutions. An example of a fault finder is a nit picking superior. Such types are commonly found in the military. The Fault Finder will go around, find some minor problem and blow it out of proportion, often threatening people with undesirable consequences. The Fault Finder does what he does on purpose with no intention to resolve the problem. Those who comment on issues hardly fit the bill for one reason; they comment because of a perceived injustice or because they are truly concerned. The fault finder does it because of some perverse pleasure to do so...

Thus to label Mr Brown a fault finder just because he did not provide a solution is to be ignorant of the true meaning of the phrase. Such an act does great injustice to a man who dares to voice what he feels. Of course like all things in life, a fault finding need not be a bad thing...but more of that for another time...

Now to hope that i dun get labelled a PARTISAN PLAYER because of the above...
